  • Regular training 1815-2115
  • Level 4s will be doing an Aviation PC starting first period, then will be writing the PC after that. The level 4 classes will be bumped and will happen after the PC is written. Apologies to the instructors, but this is a mandatory PC for the level 4s to pass their level.

Cape Split Hike Tomorrow

Reminder of the Cape Split hike this weekend! Cadets are to meet at 0830 at Birchall and will be picked up around 1630. They must have appropriate clothing, lunch and water. Those without will be sent home. Staff is asked to arrive at 0800 for a safety briefing and to ensure equipment is packed.

Parents Meeting Wednesday

There will be a mandatory parents meeting on Wednesday April 27th at 1900hrs in classroom 9 and 10 of Birchall. This meeting will be for parents/guardians to go over their cadets personal information and file to make sure that it is correct and up-to-date. This is very important so we ask that a parent/guardian for each cadet attend if at all possible. If this is not possible, please contact the squadron to make alternate arrangements.

Saturday

  • Squadron Cape Split Hike. Cadets will need to be dropped off at Birchall at 0830 and will be transported for Cape Split by bus for the hike. Cadets need to be dressed appropriately for the weather and the terrain (footwear with ankle support preferred). They also need to bring water and a lunch. Pick up will be at 1630 at Birchall. As always, cadets will call home if we will not be back at that time.
  • ***Cadets that show up without proper clothing or adequate food will be sent home. If there is a problem supplying either of these, please contact the staff by Wednesday***

NOTES

  • Congratulations to the Aurora Cup team who came in third. Special note to our swimming team who won first place!
  • Our PRSY training will be happening on May 19th and 26th. Cadets will be signing up this Wednesday so please come prepared with a week you would prefer to be there for.
  • Sign up for the squadron biathlon competition will also be this Wednesday. Any cadets that are interested can compete regardless of whether they have attended any practices this year. Be prepared for potentially cold and wet weather.
  • First Aid training is limited to 11 spots. Sign up for this as well will be on Wednesday on a first come, first serve basis. Please only sign up if you are 100% sure you can commit to the whole weekend.
  • All Wake A Thon money is due this Wednesday.
  • All League tickets are due this Wednesday.

UPCOMING EVENTS

  • April 19 – Make up fitness test. Any cadets that were not able to attend the last one must be in attendance.
  • April 20 – Make-up flight sim for those that were absent during their level.
  • April 23 – Cape Split Hike. More information to follow.

Aurora Cup Kit List

Cadets that are attending Aurora Cup are required to bring with them:

  • sports clothing
  • indoor shoes
  • water bottle
  • wet/cold outdoor clothes (it will be cold and rainy this weekend and cadets will be outside moving between buildings)
  • appropriate pyjamas
  • full uniform (medals and ribbons)
  • polishing kit
  • sewing kit

  • swim gear (swim team)
  • appropriate clothes for the dance
  • money for canteen
  • toiletries
    • shampoo

    • towel (x2 for swim team)

Aurora Cup Information

  • Drop off for Aurora Cup will be at Birchall at 1800hrs Friday for all cadets.
  • All cadets MUST have a photo ID with them as some of the competition is at the community center and Morfee.
  • Pick up will be around 1500hrs on Sunday at the cadet complex. Just a note to parents that the cadets will not be allowed to leave until all the quarters are cleaned, so this is an approximate time.
  • CV Saulnier will be cutting hair for males on the drill team tonight at cadets for 5$. If you need a haircut for Aurora Cup, this is the time to do it!
  • The kit list will be going out tonight or tomorrow morning.
