Monday, September 26th 

  • Band 6-8 (Morfee)
  • Drill team 8-9 (Morfee)
  • Flag Party 6-7 (Morfee)
  • Flying Scholarship 6-9 (Birchall)
    • Open to all cadets interested in applying for either Glider or Power scholarships age 15+
    • If your cadet is participating in either Band, Flag Party or Drill Team and would like to attend the Flying Scholarship program as well, please have them approach either Capt Bourque or Mr. Losier as soon as possible.
  • Anyone interested in participating in these activities should come out, no previous experience necessary.  Please wear appropriate civilian attire.

Wednesday, September 21th

  •  Regular Training Night in summer dress

Thursday, September 22th 

  • Biathlon practice 6-8 at Birchall
  • Open to all cadets, regardless of age, fitness or experience level
  • You do not have to compete to come train with us!

Saturday, October 1st

  • Level 1 day
  • This will be a chance for the level 1s to get some of the basics of drill, dress, and deportment covered.
  • Dress will be in civilian clothes
  • Will run from 0830 – 1700 hrs
  • Lunch will be provided.

Upcoming Events 

Saturday, October 15th 

  • Evan’s Corn Maze, Wilmot
  • 1330 – 1530
  • Transportation not provided
  • Cadets will have their entrance fee paid for and will get a hot dog and water for a snack.
  • This is an optional fun activity for the cadets to come out and have some fun at the corn maze.

Monday, October 10th 

  • There will be no band, drill team or flag party as the Morfee Center is being used.

Sunday, October 23rd (Originally advertised as Oct 22nd and Oct 16th) 

  • Familiarization Flights – An opportunity to have a glider or power flight
  • 8am to 4pm at CFB Greenwood
  • Open to 40 cadets priority given to level 1s
  • We apologize for the continual change in date for flying. These dates are made by the province and they have been having difficulties confirming aircraft. This means there is a continual shift in availability and thus a continual shift in dates to try to accommodate the highest number of cadets across the province. Thank you for your patience.

September 24th 

  • Range Day at Morfee Center in appropriate civilian attire (for those new to range, they will be lying down in the prone position while shooting so loose pants/shorts and a t-shirt are preferred)
  • This is considered mandatory training and all cadets should be present if possible.
  • We will be doing range classes in the morning to introduce new cadets to the rules of the range and to refresh the other cadets.
  • Cadets will get an opportunity to shoot in the afternoon.

  • Warrant Officer Interviews for FSgt’s and above. If you have any questions, please talk to Lt Roberts or CI Losier as soon as possible.

Thursday, September 15th 

  • Biathlon practice 6-8 at Birchall
  • Open to all cadets, regardless of age, fitness or experience level
  • You do not have to compete to come train with us!

September 16th-18th (At Birchall)

  • Level 5 leadership weekend.  This is mandatory for all those in level 5 as we will be doing the mandatory classes for your level during this weekend.
  • Cadets will need to be dropped off at 1800 hrs at Birchall. We will be sleeping at Birchall.
  • They will be picked up after the Battle of Britain Parade on Sunday (around 1530)
  • A kit list will be distributed this Wednesday and posted online shortly after

Sunday, September 18th (Afternoon at 107 Valley Wing)

  • Battle of Britain Parade at 107 Valley Wing of the RCAFA
  • We need volunteers for a small work party before the parade at 1300 hrs. Names will be confirmed this Wednesday and posted after.  If your cadet is interested, please have them pass their name up through their chain of command.
  • The parade is mandatory for all cadets. Level 5 cadets will be marched over from Birchall at the end of their weekend.
  • Cadets should be there at 1315hrs, parade starts at 1400hrs and should be done by 1530hrs.
  • There will be refreshments and finger food following the parade.
  • Dress is full uniform (tunic and tie) and new recruits can attend wearing black dress pants and a pressed white dress shirt.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Should this heatwave we’re experiencing continue please keep that in mind before the parade.  Make sure your cadet has a good lunch, drinks plenty of water and avoids drinking large quantities of milk.  Thanks!

Weekly Events Sept 5 – 11

 

Wednesday, September 7th 1800 – 2100 at Birchall 

  • Welcome BBQ! This is an event for the whole family and an opportunity to bring a new friend who might be interested in joining cadets.  There will be games and activities run by the senior cadets during the BBQ.  Please wear appropriate sports attire.
  • The BBQ will take place at the field behind Birchall.
  • Returning cadets are asked to bring:
    • Any uniform parts that no longer fit to exchange at supply
    • A parent to verify personal information and attend the parents meeting
    • New health card if it has expired in the last year
    • A friend that might be interested in cadets
  • Potential new cadets are asked to bring:
    • A parent to fill our paperwork if necessary
    • Health card and government ID
    • A positive attitude!
  • We have a Facebook Event for the BBQ! Please feel free to share with those who might be interested and RSVP!
