Air Cadets have many opportunities, from awards and scholarships to trips and exchanges. This page shows all current opportunities for our cadets.
Colonel Robert Perron Award
The Colonel Robert Perron Award is an award for physical fitness in cadets. Cadets must voluntarily undergo the fitness test and their marks are recorded and submitted nationally. The cadet with the highest score wing the award for that year. This year, if cadets wish to voluntarily undergo the fitness test, they must submit their names to Lt Roberts via email NLT 15 March so we can arrange a date and time to complete the testing. Cadets must be 15 years old to apply.
Air Cadet League National Education Scholarships
All information is found at the Air Cadet League website (https://aircadetleague.com/for-cadets-squadrons/awards/scholarships/)
There are currently 6 available scholarships for post-secondary. The deadline for these applications is April 1st. Please note that they need a CO’s recommendation letter and a letter of recommendation from the Sponsor, so please plan accordingly.
Cadets Summer Training High School Credit Program
Cadets in Nova Scotia that successfully complete approved 6-week courses and advanced opportunities are eligible for a high school elective credit added to their transcript. Cadets may have all applicable courses added to their transcript though only one will count towards graduation. Cadets need to provide their signed course reports and a student notification form (available here: https://pdc.ednet.ns.ca/policy-guides-forms or at cadets) to their guidance counselor. If cadets require help with this, please fill out a personnel request form outlining your request.
