Optional activities are opportunities for cadets to build upon the information they learn through the mandatory training. These activities are conducted outside of regular training hours and we have something nearly every day of the week for the cadets to participate in. Cadets are highly encouraged to join activities that interest them. Please note that some teams are competition teams and therefore tryouts may be required.

Cadets who wish to be a part of the brass and reed marching band are encouraged to talk to the drum major at any point during the training year. If cadets do not have access to an instrument, we may be able to provide them with one. We encourage all musicians of all playing levels to come out and play. This team preforms at local events at the Annual Ceremonial Review.
1800 – 1900 on Mondays at Morphee Gym
The flag party requires a high level of drill, dress and deportment and therefore is a significant honour. Cadets learn flag and rifle drill in preparation for ceremonial parades (such as the Annual Ceremonial Review).
2000-2100 on Mondays at Morphee Gym
Cadets are encouraged to come try out for the drill team at the beginning of each training year. This is an opportunity to work on your drill, be a part of a team, as well as learn and memorize advanced sequences of drill movements. This team competes in competitions and preforms at the Annual Ceremonial Review.
